Corporación Multi Inversiones

Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI) is a multinational agro-industrial corporation based in Guatemala. The firm was originally founded as a family business by Juan Bautista Gutierrez in the 1920s, and according to an article in ''El Diario de Hoy'', one of the largest circulating newspapers in El Salvador, is one of the most powerful corporations in Central America. CMI currently comprises over 300 companies and now accounts for more than 30,000 employees, operating in 14 countries within six divisions:
*Wheat milling, which produces and distributes flour, pasta, cookies and packaging materials;
*Poultry and processed meats, which produces and distributes poultry, pork products and animal foods;
*Fast food, which includes Pollo Campero, a fried chicken fast food chain with more than 220 restaurants in 10 countries;
*Construction, which develops and builds housing projects, office buildings and shopping malls;
*Finance, which includes banking and financial services; and
*Infrastructure, which is involved with hydroelectric power generation plants.
*Telecommunications, where they own 40% of the operations of Movistar in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panamá after closing a deal for $500 million US dollars.
Juan Luis Bosch Gutierrez and Dionisio Gutierrez Mayorga currently lead CMI as co-presidents of the company, and comprise the governing body of the organization, together with Juan Jose Gutierrez and Felipe Bosch Gutierrez.
